Where do I even start????

I am now in a panic as I realize Christmas is only 13 days away. I have a list a mile long and not enough hours in the day to get it all done.

Here is the list:
  1. Put up decorations (Yes, I know I don't have too many more days to enjoy them!
  2. Put away fall decorations (Yes, I know Thanksgiving has come and gone...)
  3. Christmas gift list to make sure everyone is covered
  4. Wrap presents
  5. Make cleaning list
  6. Make Christmas menu
  7. Mail packages
  8. Mail Christmas cards
  9. Go through guest bedroom and get rid of junk
  10. Pick up candle order and deliver candles
  11. Put together secret pal stuff
  12. Put together friend packages

This is only the beginning of a list. I toss and turn at night, stressing about things that need to be done before guests arrive for the holidays. It will all get done as usual and we will have a great time!

Daisy had to go have her yearly check at the vet yesterday. Close to $200 and 3 shots later we are hoping that we can figure out what the poor thing is allergic to. She has a huge sore on her neck from scratching so much and has lost hair because of scratching also. The vet put her on a special diet of duck and potato in hopes that she will be cured. We also got a load of different meds for her to try as well. She is not feeling well today---hopefully just from the shots. She seems to get her "whatever in a wad" after going to the vet so she could just be pouting as well.

I have had the stomach flu for the past couple of days. I just don't feel good. I hate missing work but don't want to feel miserable there either. Kid after kid has been coming to the office not feeling well so it was just a matter of time before I was blessed with it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day!

I am off to wrap presents!

My Obsession is scrapbooking

My obsession of choice is scrapbooking. I love it! It doesn't necessarily mean that I do it but I sure love the preparation for it such as buying the newest and latest products that they come out with. I think I have about every embellishment there ever was and at last count I had at least 5,000 sheets of printed paper and cardstock. And Yes, that number does represent thousands. Crazy, I know! Last count I had thousands of eyelets as well. I also have two full, busting at the seams, PSB binders, several boxes of stickers (which I don't use anymore), and baskets and baskets of embellishments. My embellishment of choice at the moment seems to be flowers of any sort. Thankfully I am blessed with a man that fully supports my habit and actually eggs it on at times.

I have a new goal---I will not buy anymore paper until I use some of this stash. I am going to start going through some of my stuff after the holidays and get rid of it. I can't handle having so much and being so overwhelmed with it all. In fact I have so much that I don't know where to start so I just don't start at all. However, I have no problem continuing to buy. CRAZY!

What is your obsession? How obsessed are you? Come on, tell me....I am dying to know and hoping that I won't feel so bad once I read others.

The "Joys" of Christmas....

Don't get me wrong, I sooo love the holidays. However, I am beginning to really dread the whole present buying scenario. I just can't seem to ever feel like I am getting the perfect gift for anyone. My poor husband and I spent a whole day in the big shopping town trying to finish up our shopping list. After hours of looking for the perfect gift, we pretty much resorted to gift certificates for everyone. I know they aren't too personal, but at least you can get what you want and I can get some sleep knowing that I didn't once again buy you a george foreman grill.

Hubby has been after me to make him a shopping list. There really isn't too much I want or need this year. I am so into crafts--scrapbooking, rubber stamping, crafty sewing, etc.--but pretty much have everything I need. I also have a craft room that only holds so much and, unfortunately, there isn't much room in there anymore. I refer to it as my scrap room while Hubby lovingly calls it my "crap" room and I am beginning to agree with him these days. I have so much stuff in there that I rarely venture in for fear I will be tackled by something falling or sticking out....So, I guess I will ask for
this and this and maybe some shelving units for Christmas from target. I have to get that room organized or I am selling off all my goods on Ebay....I just can't take it any longer! I don't know what else to ask for aside from a past, present, and future ring and that would be like asking for a date with Adam Sandler---it ain't happening this year (as they say!).

My parents and little brother are coming here for Christmas this year and I couldn't be more excited. Of course there is alot to do before they get here but I am up for the challenge. My little brother is so much fun to have around at Christmas. He absolutely adores Hubby and Hubby adores him as well. I am soo very excited to see those two together....my two favorite men!

As some of you may know, my little brother is brain damaged. He is the most amazing person I have ever met. He is my ray of sunshine that never stops shining. He is the one who is excited for whatever you give him, regardless of price, etc. He is the one who giggles at you when noone else will. He will give you a high five and a "Hey" or "Hi" even if you don't need one. He will sit by you and give you a grin to die for. He is the one that is giving to a fault. He is the one that I worry about every day. I worry that he will somehow, somewhere be taken advantage of. I worry what will happen to him when we are all gone. I worry that he will become sick. I worry about him because I love him more than anything. People always say how lucky he is that he has us.....and I say No Way.....We are the ones so blessed to have him in our lives. He is truly our miracle and without him, our family would be bored and lost. He really does give us all life everyday! Jer Bear, WE LOVE YOU!

Happy Holidays everyone and if you need a foreman grill, let me know. I think I bought extras last year!
